SPIRITUAL
¨Faith, Harmony, Peace, and Unconditional Love¨
Spirituality can be defined as so many things. A lot of people immediately relate spirituality to religion. But for me, spirituality is practicing integrity, strengthening your faith, and expressing unconditional love from your soul. I think of spirituality as an essence, a vibe that you can exude if you are in line with the right spiritual practices that allow you to become the best possible version of yourself. Like my mental and physical practices, my spirituality is also a daily work in progress. Here are a few of my favorite ways to incorporate spirituality into my life.
1. Breathe- One common thread that I’ve noticed that all majorly successful people seem to practice, is incorporating some type of breath work or meditation into their daily routines. After listening to countless podcasts and my spiritual mentor continuously mention the importance of the breath, I’ve just recently started including breath work and guided mediations into my morning ritual, and let me tell you, it is an amazing way to start the day. Not to mention, restart your day. If ever you are feeling angry, sad, or frustrated, I highly recommend taking a few deep conscious breaths, and really focusing on that and only that. It will help to clear your mind, refocus your energy, and rewire your body’s chemistry entirely.
2. Connecting With Nature- My absolute favorite way to find peace in myself and my surroundings, is by getting out in nature. There is so much science and research behind the fact that nature in itself is healing. There are so many amazing places and so much beauty to take in, in this world. Remember to disconnect, and reconnect with yourself and all the wonder this earth has to offer us.
3. Showing Gratitude- Gratitude is the best attitude. A really simple tool to add to your spiritual tool belt, is showing, practicing, and acknowledging the things in your life that you’re grateful for. Stopping to take the time to appreciate the little things in life, or big things, accomplishments, or steps you’ve take to reach your goals, is a major key in changing the quality of your life. Each morning, I like to begin my day by writing down 10 things I’m grateful for. This helps to shift your outlook on the day to a more positive and appreciative tone.
4. Be present- This one can be difficult for me, and for so many out there. Mastering the art of being fully present is almost nearly impossible. Especially if you’re a goal oriented person, or maybe you’re someone who is nostalgic and likes to live in the past. Either way, it can be very easy to get caught up in planning for the future, or reminiscing about what was. All I can tell you, is that when I’m able to be fully present, is when I feel most productive, and most happy within myself. A few ways I’m able to achieve staying in the moment, is by listening to others, listening to myself, engaging in conversation, not looking at my phone, giving the task at hand, or person I’m with 100% of my focus, dedication, and attention. This one is not simple, so be gracious with yourself.
5. Affirmations- Writing a list of affirmations and saying them out loud daily with emotion attached to them is a great first step in manifesting the things that you want to come to fruition in your life. A great quote I once heard is “your words become the house you live in.” The things that you say on a daily basis have so much impact on your life. Speaking the things that you want, will only create more space for them to become a reality.
6. Manifestation- I’m sure you all have heard of the law of attraction. Call me crazy, but thinking, visualizing, and feeling the things that you desire in your life actually does work. I’ve experienced it first hand. Give anything power, and it will give power back to you. My favorite time to manifest the goals that I want to achieve, is actually done best and feels most effective when I’m working out. Rather than focusing on the level of difficulty of an exercise or how sore and tired I feel, I visualize the things that I want in my life. It is such a great way to keep yourself motivated, and really does work. Your thoughts become your reality.
